project overview
Myth on Trial is a creative project that puts myths and legendary figures on the stand.
Each trial examines their actions, arguments, and motivations through a mock trial format, blending history, mythology, and law in a fun and educational way
I, Reagan Grella, along with my co-founder, Catheryne Redfield, started this project because I extremely passionate when it comes to mythology, history, and mock trial. I wanted a way to tell the ancient stories and myths that have been told for centuries, while also having fun debating and imagining what a courtroom for gods/goddesses and heroes might look like.
Being a high school student, I am always busy with homework and I wanted to find a way to incorporate the things I love while also sharing my passion with others! I hope you all learn a bit from this website and come to enjoy this side of history that does not get shown very often.
Whether you’re a fan of Greek gods, historical figures, or just love a good courtroom drama like me, this project is for you! Step into the courtroom and see who really deserves justice!
How does it work?
Each trial includes:
Context (tells the story of the myths briefly)
Charges (prosecution, and defense arguments)
Witnesses (mythological or historical)
Verdicts that are chosen by YOU (via poll)
I wanted to make this website as fun and interactive as possible- so to answer question… all visitors (yes, including you!) can submit their own trials using our submission form as well as participate in deciding the verdict of the trials via poll. All trials are reviewed before posting to ensure a safe and respectful environment
